It should come with the unit at $50 more or $25 by itself. This price is ridiculous hence the DIY reflectors.

I have this for my ranger. It does help but not great. Wind seems to be a factor. Maybe the ranger just doesn't put out as much heat.

same price at walmart. discover card has 5% back at walmart. combine with cash back sites that aren't available on amazon, and it is the better option. making your own looks simple enough, but with the stacking cash back, this is close enough in price to not bother compared to ~$60 in parts per the reddit thread and youtube videos

Because everything from this company comes with an inflated price tag. You get good customer service and excellent warranty support, but with extra cost. Worth it for some but not for all. There are many DIY ideas to make something functionally similar for under $50, but it won't look as cool.

I find it a little amusing that the propane-fueled fire pit [amazon.com] I've used for over two two years that sits low enough to warm one's shins without a reflector costs just a little more than this Solo accessory. It also has an instant clean flame that doesn't require any maintenance over an evening.

Granted, I have to get propane, but I bought a refillable bottle back then for about $50, it lasts 10+ hours per fill, and topping it off at a local gas station usually costs $12-15.
