I had a similar promo back in 2019. It was great because you can pause this service for long intervals. It's specially useful when you are traveling internationally. You can activate it then and enjoy free data, and then pause when you don't need it. I was able to extend that promo to about a year of use. You just have to be mindful of what line the data is being used from.

I just signed up for this and waiting my bill credit of $195 to arrive. I plan on doing the same this time around. Hopefully the pausing system hasn't been taken away from Fi customers.

Update: I am approved for $195 free credits. And looks like the pausing feature is available. Going to pause it for any international travel in the future.
Just received the same email.
3 months free seems great, but month 4 pricing @ $65/mo is hard to stomach when you've got US Mobile, MobileX, Mint, etc competitive pricing options around $15-$20/mo.
this is clutch thanks for sharing! i will likely use it for same reason.

The tax is not included. 3 free months are not free for most of us.

I never cared for them, but during signup I saw they had deals for phones. It's on a month to month basis, and I am not sure sure if you could pay it off early.

This was my plan as well (international travel) Is there any easy way to use your primary number or have calls forwarded from primary number to fi?

I just have both esims active at the same time when I travel and just make the data for fi the primary one. I THINK it's also possible if your other line has WiFi calling then all the calls get routed using the data on the fi line…At least on iPhone

How did you get approved when you're already a Gfi customer?

They consider you to be a new customer if you hadn't had their service for 180 days. Since I had it last in 2019 that makes me eligible for this promo.

Ah, that make sense. Anyone know if the code is transferrable?

There was a Reddit thread where folks were saying Google shut off their data because they activated their plan and almost immediately started using their data internationally. There was some talk about a minimum amount of time you needed to have the plan activate statewide before they'd allow you to use international data.

Have you encountered anything similar? Asking because I'm visiting Japan at the end of August and this free trial lines up perfectly. I was going to activate the offer close to the 8/17 deadline and use it for the 2 weeks I'm in Japan. You're saying I should pause the plan immediately after receiving the credits and unpause when it's time for the trip?
