I just signed up for this and waiting my bill credit of $195 to arrive. I plan on doing the same this time around. Hopefully the pausing system hasn't been taken away from Fi customers.
Update: I am approved for $195 free credits. And looks like the pausing feature is available. Going to pause it for any international travel in the future.
3 months free seems great, but month 4 pricing @ $65/mo is hard to stomach when you've got US Mobile, MobileX, Mint, etc competitive pricing options around $15-$20/mo.

Have you encountered anything similar? Asking because I'm visiting Japan at the end of August and this free trial lines up perfectly. I was going to activate the offer close to the 8/17 deadline and use it for the 2 weeks I'm in Japan. You're saying I should pause the plan immediately after receiving the credits and unpause when it's time for the trip?

Also, my offer said Google One 100GB storage was included (I assume for the 3 months), plus six months YouTube Premium.
Edit: I found this info which might answer my question. However this is 6 years old: "You can pause it for up to 180 days per calendar year (this is according to several Google Fi reps I spoke with since Google does not spell it out online. "
You can suspend, or pause, your Google Fi service for a short period of time. You can easily resume your service at any time. If you haven't resumed service after three months, it will automatically turn back on. Repeatedly pausing Google Fi is a violation of our Terms of Service.
In the Unlimited Plus and Simply Unlimited plans, you can choose to pause at any time, but you'll be charged through the end of your billing cycle. When you unpause, you'll be charged for the remaining days in the cycle, regardless of whether you re-pause before that cycle ends.
When you temporarily pause your Google Fi Unlimited service, your Google One benefits will continue to be active.

Needs to be used before 08/17/2024 at 23:59 pm PT. But just in time for the Google Pixel 9 pro launch offer, if you can switch to a cheaper plan for a few days! The biggest challenge is going to be the data, and unless you have a second data sim - it's hard to justify Google Fi plans. One thing to note though is network prioritization is at par with premium TMO plans.
