Would this work as a UPS? It is not much more expensive than a 12v "mini ups" on Amazon...
Yes. This can be charged while outputting power, although it's not really designed to sit at 100 percent charge its whole life. You could even get a cable that lets you power devices from the 12 volt or Type C port and not have to be running the inverter the whole time.

I won this from a sweepstakes, so while free, it didn't have a warranty on it. I kept trying to test how much power I could squeeze out of the inverter (tried a blender and my gaming computer), and now it discharges 4 percent a day sitting doing nothing. Which is really bad for a battery this size. Guess I shorted something.

I know the EcoFlow Power Stations can act as an UPS, it will automatically switches to its battery supply mode within 30 milliseconds. But not sure if other mfg has this feature. The EcoFlow may cost a bit more, but with this feature it's not just sitting there waiting for power outage or camping trip to use, as it can be used as an UPS.
Which EcoFlow model? agree that it would be nice to not just have it for emergencies.

200W output on AC, 600W max it says for surge. 200W is pretty low for this size. My EB3A does 600W sustained.

Anyone use this with a cpap machine specifically the resmed airsense 10? Currently using a Medistrom Pilot-24 Lite CPAP Battery and i barely lasts a day or 2. Trying to see if this would at least last me a couple of nights.

30ms as a ups will not be sufficient to keep your desktop pc from powering off.

The beefier anker models advertise 20ms, which is still kinda long may have better luck. Not sure if anyone has tested.

ATX PSU should hold up for 15ms at full load and much longer if at lower load right?

After doing some research, I think I'm going to wait for the BLUETTI PS72 700W Portable Power Station, 716Wh LiFePO4 Power Station that releases on 7/27/24. I'm seeing a pre-order for $219 on newegg or $300 on walmart. Seems like a better deal at 3 times the capacity for the price.

You can charge this device with a solar panel. It has a DC input.
Anker's website does a really terrible job showing this, but does appear it can charge up to 100 watts or is it 200?

Either way, still needs the UPS function.

Eb3a is significantly better. Around this price when refurbs pop up on eBay. Faster charge, supports dual charging, significantly higher rated ac inverter. I'm sure there's more.

Do they make a portable battery charger, that is physically about this size, but, has a huge capacity and is only capable of charging cell phones and tablets?

Personally, I wouldn't have the need for one of these to be able to charge a laptop or any household appliances. However, I think that it would be great, to have one of these that has something like a 200,000 or 300,000 mAh capacity and could charge a modern-day cell phone, 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 times.

Is there such a charging device that has already been made and is available to be purchased?
Why not just buy this

so i have a smoker, it takes about 100watts at start (about 5min) then uses 16watts continuous after. could this thing in reality be used for my smoker for a few cooks being say 3-4hrs at a time?

i'm not 100% sure the equation to calculate how many running hours i would be looking at. any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, look for a portable car jump starter on Amazon. They're about as small as they can make them, >95% of the size/weight is battery, powerful enough to charge your phone for weeks, cheap ($30~70), and they'll also jump your car if you ever happen to need it. It's kept in your car by default so you'll always have it when you need it. They all have USB-A/C/micro ports these days.

No, the EcoFlow's cannot be used as a UPS. They can be used as an EPS. UPS can be used to supply uninterrupted power for computers and the computer will not shutdown as soon as power is lost. With an EcoFlow as an EPS, power is lost for 30 milliseconds before the battery kicks. This will cause computer equipment to abruptly turn off. An EPS is good backup power for non computer equipment (sump pumps / refrigerators / freezers / etc.). When the EcoFlow reaches 100% battery charge, it goes into bypass mode and power is drawn from your main power source and bypasses the battery.
