I'd love a future where AI can upscale SD to 4K and above.
This is HDX which says is 1080p like bluray but they are not close to the same quality BUT many might be satisfied despite the more compression done.
The real question is wether this is just an upscaled sd or a downscaled bluray rip

I watched the first season back when they had the uncropped SD version and it was free with ads. The show itself holds up better than I thought it would but then they switched to the cropped HD version so I didn't watch the rest.
A few years ago there was a preview for a blu ray set that is uncropped (but still an upscale) and it looked much better. But it was supposed to release that year or something and it's been crickets ever since.
iTunes still has the uncropped version in SD and I've been tempted to buy it the couple times it went on sale there. I'm worried they'll either change it to the unwatchabley cropped version and I'll be stuck with that crap or they'll get the rights to the Blu-ray version and I'll need to buy it again for the HD stream.
