Personally, don't really care about the status but will say the Lacoste bath towels I bought years ago are thick and really absorbent. One of the better brands of towels I've bought tbh. Unfortunately, I can't find my receipts of what towels I bought so I can't verify if the ones on sale are the same ones are not. So caveat emptor
