This kit has over 96 thousand review ratings @ 5 stars overall on Amazon. I think yer gonna be ok.

I upgraded from a r5 3600 to this CPU with retail clocked 3200mhz ram. Very slick deal! Great combo with even the most barebones motherboard.

Not how that works.

The Amazon listing is for various sku's. These sticks are also for Intel primarily, they're intel XMP, they don't have DOCP settings. The XMP may or may not work on AMD.

If that isn't enough go read the Newegg reviews, it is full of people suffering from AMD motherboard compatibility issues with Corsair telling people to verify the QVL.

You do you though, not my money and time.

Same res and hz with a 3080ti. It will be substantial, going from 32mb vs 96mb l3 cache. Hard to give exact numbers.. but being GPU heavy and upgrading to these x3D cpus seems to give consistent good reviews. Even using a gsync monitor, I noticed smoother frames, on top of just more fps.. imo "ymmv".

with the new Zen 5 chips coming soon, I'm not sure I want to go with a 7950x, but I'd like a system now to hold me over... thinking about getting the am5 motherboard, ram, cooler, and a stop gap Ryzen AM5 CPU for now, something that'll be a good bang for the buck for general tasks and light gaming, yet can be sold to recoup most of the cost so I can then upgrade with a processor drop-in.

which chip would be ideal for this?

For a CPU heavy game (Counter Strike 2) people saw a 100% increase in FPS to (3700x to 5800x3D). Basically everything doubled.
