FAQ's:
- No, you cannot use Staples GC's to purchase these.
- No, these do not count towards your spend requirements for a premier membership.
- No, these do not earn you any Staples rewards.
- No, you cannot use coupons/ rewards to purchase these GC's.
- Yes, you can split payment between multiple cards (if your cashier permits it) YMMV
- The limit of 8 may or may not be enforced depending on your store/ cashier. YMMV
- Why is this a deal? Some members have CC's that earn 5% CB at office supply stores (INK and Amex Simply Cash). Others need to meet minimum CC spend.
- What if my store doesn't accept payment with a CC? Your store likely has had issues with fraud and it is managers discretion on what payment they will accept.
- Other chase cards may have special offers for Staples ($ limited). Check your chase account under chase offers.

My local Staples ran out of the $200 VISA and MC gift cards a few months ago, and they never restocked them. They have other denominations though. Anybody else in the same boat as me?

I would ask the manager or supervisor to check. Some store in the past keeps these in back to prevent (in their world) fraud.

So people buy these just to get $10 in credit card cash back? Or I guess $80 cash back if you buy $1600 worth? I'd be worried I might misplace a card.

I didn't ask for the manager or supervisor, but I asked 3 different staff there. One said all they had was on the display shelf. One said he didn't know. The third looked in a locked cabinet. No luck.

I was at my local Staples in Mill Creek, WA 10 minutes after opening on Sunday and there were no cards. The clerk said that they may get more in on Wednesday but I'll probably call to confirm before going in.

At least in my area, there are always much fewer Visa cards available on these promotions, was actually surprised when some were available last month.

I'm usually able to obtain the Mastercards, however these seem to be less useful, as they aren't as widely accepted - for example, I've had these declined for certain utilities.

then this deal is not for you. In my case I need to spend $15K in 3 months to get 250,000 amex membership points so every little bit helps..

You would most likely want to have something to immediately spend it on. I also do not like keeping things like this on hand. I'll use them to prepay some bills, like my electric, or my internet.
