I know this is just 1 person's take and most people didn't really love New Dawn, but it almost felt like Ubisoft designed that game exactly around how I like to play. I tried Rage and put maybe 2 hours into it before I stopped playing. I need to give it another go.

BTW, you stated you 'tried Rage' for 2 hours. Was that Rage 1 or Rage 2? Rage 2 is absurdly different. Would be like comparing FC 2 vs 3. They aren't even similar except they are all FPS games. Rage 1 was not bad, but it was rough. Especially the outdoor and inside town 'open worlds' part.
