It actually is illegal in my state, I had $100 in walgreens rewards and redeemed them which is the only way I noticed it as tax was high. Told the manager he said it's store policy. I said store policy doesn't supercede state law. He didn't care. Made me so mad I contacted the state, that was a month ago no contact back yet. Imagine how much these companies have made from this policy?

Stay persistent and keep going after them! That and the bs bag fee that I have never had any luck getting them to take off is robbery. If they even fulfill the order
