Do not buy these with the intention of using them with emulators.

The problem is that although they establish a Bluetooth connection, the buttons are mapped incorrectly or not at all at least in Android devices. The same is true for SNES switch controllers.

Another potential issue is that they only charge with a joycon charger not with a USB port.

You would need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription for buying these controllers in the first place, and unfortunately for playing any classic NES games.

Yea I got mine a couple years ago and they've worked great. My kids and I only use them about once or twice a month though on average

I use these with steam. Mega man and r type. They're really just for nostalgia but I love them. They feel like the originals except for the top. I use the talkworks joycon charger from Amazon.
Are you able to remap the buttons to what you need? Easily? Steam on windows?

Why wouldn't you be able to on PC? Retroarch will let you remap anything, steam OS or Windows.

Will these work with the NES Classic console? I hate the short cable on the controller that comes with the console. Makes it totally non usable in my case.

Thanks, I was confused by this post.

I assume that android is the limitation here and that any desktop OS like Windows/Linux based shouldn't have an issue remapping Bluetooth controller buttons.

I have these, and they're a great way to introduce someone to games, with the limited number of buttons. However, the Super Nintendo controller is more ergonomic, with a slightly better dpad and supports more games. You also won't need a dock to use them on PC.

I find myself using the SNES pad even when playing NES titles and would recommend it for anyone only looking to have one retro pad

I ended up buying the Japanese version of that game and it comes with the Famicom version of these controllers instead of a fake (but awesome looking) cartridge and stand.
