do these require electrician to install? i see the pict with 100w image. almost wet my pants.
I used to install landscape lighting professionally. You do not need an electrician. Any DIY'er can do this. I would recommend spacing these out maybe 8- 12 feet apart depending on bow much light you want. These arent solar power so they will put out a ton more light so they don't need to be right next to each other.

The transformer plugs into an outlet and there isn't any polarity on the 2 wires which means you don't have to worry about which wire you are connecting to.

I would say that these lights aren't the best quality but at this discount, it's a very good buy. The contractor I used to work for has stopped using volt because all the lights they installed 5 years ago now have their finishes totally worn off or corroded. Whereas the other manufacturers last up to 10-15 years.

Which manufacturer would you suggest instead?

Wish my store had these. Just bought Sunvie ones from Amazon because the price fit the bill but these seem like a much better quality.

EDIT: might keep an eye out on Ebay for resellers. Already seeing $90 kit on there.

Nobody here can accurately answer that. Your local electricians rates will vary. Best to call around and get 3 quotes. If they're all 3 similar, go with the lowest one. If it's drastically different ($100 vs $250 vs $275 for example) you really need to scrutinize the lowest price and understand what you are getting or go with the second best price. The lowest price is not always best.

Since this is low voltage, there is no code saying how this must be installed. I would recommend burying the wire at around 6" below the ground. You don't need conduit.

Since this is low voltage, nobody will get injured if you cut into it with a shovel. Just have some extra wire in case you need to do a repair.

I would try to install the transformer close enough to an outlet since you're not supposed to use extension cords. You can always run more wire to the lights.

I've ran wire over 200 feet from the transformer to the last light on some jobs. This does require thicker gauge wire and a stronger transformer.

Look up voltage drop calculator to figure out how far you can run wire to to determine what your limitations are.

As I've said earlier, you do not need an electrician to do this. Do some Google research and you can also get info on the volt website.

FX luminaire, Vista, Unique, or Pro Trade. Those are the ones my company and most of the contractors in my area use. These are definitely more expensive, but if you want something to last for years, than it's worth the money.

I'll be honest with you. Majority of low voltage lighting on Amazon is throw away product. If you're on a budget, than go right ahead but Amazon is full of mass produced Chinese made junk that won't last more than 2-3 years and if you have any issue, the company may not exist anymore for you to get a replacement.

For anyone on the fence about this deal, I purchased a full Volt setup for our home years ago. Volt is VERY high quality, far superior to anything the usual disposable landscape lighting you find at Lowe's and HD. I just purchase more with this deal

from my understanding now. that i dont need conduit. just dig and bury. what i need now is an external outlet though.

My Lowes has been sitting at 60% off for like 2 months now! They still have tons in stock in store, been waiting for that next price drop, but it seems to never happen!
