If you have decent knives or try to keep them sharp avoid bamboo. It's a VERY hard material, usually has sand in the glues that hold it together and will dull the hell out of your knives. Would use plastic before looking at bamboo, though nothing beats actual wood (upkeep can suck though).

Everything you listed is "destroy your knives instantly". If those are your options then yeah use the bamboo I guess. Glass, stone and stainless will instantly dull any remotely sharp knife.

Given the amount of microplastics you are already ingesting I doubt it matters that much, but again if it does use a wood board.

Fakespot gives the item an A rating. Price history shows it has averaged around $13-$14, but has had a low of $9 several times. Don't be fooled by the $20 listing.

You should avoid synthetic materials like plastic... unless you enjoy eating microplastics. Wood is the best option, but if you can't, most likely I would go with stainless steel, thick glass, stone, etc...

Are the boards dishwasher safe?

Yes, if you don't mind them getting cracks and splitting. It'll most likely take a few times before this happens though.

BTW no go, with very good Japanese knives, the silica content here is hard on super thin blades…

Never listen to anybody who suggests glass or stone cutting boards.

Just from a safety perspective, let along a usage one.

Bamboo boards made in China sketch me out. I have no factual support but presumably these boards are made from very thin pieces of bamboo compressed and glued together. no such thing as a bamboo slab. not trusting that the glue in these is safe.

Most hardwood boards are not 1 piece either but you can find boards with far less pieces and presumably far less glue made by a reputable manufacturer. You will of course pay more.
