When many of these gift cards for sale and not any deal from Southwest, something fishy is up.

Southwest runs on Windows 3.1. I am sure they don't have that much spend in the last week from cloud strike disaster.

Only the Max 9s are affected. Southwest doesn't fly any 9s.

Still more likely to crash on the way to the airport.

I'll saves my moneys and takes my chances 😋

That said, their prices in my neighborhood have gone up way more than 10%, and no more sales worth worrying about

Costco is always cheaper on their sales; no reason to buy through amazon here

From what I've seen recently like once every 1-2 months? Pretty frequently

$430 for $500 in GC

I believe they have $450 for $500 always on their site.

I'm getting another 5 - 10% on top of this by using various Amex offers.
Or, you can get your regular 5% off $450 by using Amazon cc.

Also gotta find a way to draw down that large amazon gc balance, I think you can use it if you have $449 or less remaining.

OP (Staff) should know the SW gift cards have frequently been $430 for $500 lately and this is NOT a deal.

This is strictly for the referral commission from Amazon for a junk deal. Just be patient and wait for a bigger discount.

Can these be used to buy points when they have their sales? Also is that a good idea?

I don't think you can use GCs to buy points. But as to your other question, no. It is never a good idea to buy points in bulk. Here is something for you to try. Look up a flight cost in dollars and points. Now, using the price (or sale price when they go on "sale") you would pay to buy those points, calculate how much it would take to buy the points for your flight. Is this more or less than the cash price of the flight? I bet that almost every time, the cash price would be less. Also, flights on points don't earn RR.

Buying points is only worthwhile if you are short some amount of points and looking to top off to redeem for flights as far as WN is concerned. Though, I have seen folks buy points for international business/first and you could sometimes come out a winner.
