The way to go IMO is to look for the unknown brands on eBay and score. For example, Delta has a luxury arm called Brizo - it's the good stuff with a lifetime warranty - a $400+ retail faucet configuration for 75 bucks with the heavy swinging brass handles - there is a huge difference. Or, for a good kitchen setup, look for KWC. Our kitchen faucet, a KWC domo series, retail $800 bucks, was found new in box for $110. There is a difference - the luxury is evident.

I tried that, bought a bunch of Hansgrohe faucets on eBay that were supposedly all open box but literally every single one was missing parts or all scratched up. I have had much better luck buying used from Amazon, much better deals especially on Hansgrohe and very easy to return if any issues.

eBay seller "budget-plumbing-supply" I would avoid at all costs.

I would not say brizo is unknown, but I agree that your best bet is to get open-box or surplus from sellers on ebay of luxury brand bathroom faucets. Unlike showerhead or handheld shower, that all consumers can replace, these require skills and come with different styles that you need to search to match your bathroom.
I started with delta, but quickly went on ebay and bough brizo trim for my shower. Their trims fit delta shower valves and have substantial better quality and cartridges unlike delta plastic crap.
Lost of seller will sell open box slightly scratched items at a fraction of the price, like $1500 item for $150.

Overall, this stuff is extremely overpriced, I guess due to "lifetime warranty".

It is also not that hard to score these items on ebay, they do not sell well. Find a seller with "Best offer" option and offer half the price. You will be surprised how many sellers with accept the offer.

Some good tips here. I wish I knew all this before I installed a rebranded Kraus (miscellaneous Chinese factory product) Delta faucet from Costco.

Same. Just installed a Kohler bathroom faucet from Costco, and it's good enough for me not to shop around to replace it with a higher quality one. Hopefully I remember this advice when it comes time to replace the next one.

At least Kohler customer support is still very good. Delta won't even support Delta branded Kraus products apparently. People still regard Kohler as one of the better USA-based mid tier faucet brands.

Have had very few and minimal issues with all my Moen faucets. When I did and reached out to Moen they sent me replacement parts at no charge!

I bought a similar style on sale last year and love it. Feels very high quality.
Moen still has a huge facility in New Bern NC. I couldn't find if this is US made or not.

If you are not in a rush, wait for the Kohler faucet on sale back in Costco. I think last time it's around $50 each. There's also different colors/finishes.

Try listings that have photos of all components you get. I bought handle that was missing plastic cap for the screw. Seller apologies and refunded half the price. I plan to 3d print the cap.

Not that the deal can be replicated today, but for a point of reference, I bought two of these from Amazon in 2022 for $35 each. They were brand new and it was a lightning deal. Not sure how often they drop that low

That being said, I like them quite a lot. They look nice and clean easily

No name faucets may come with low quality valves that stiffen up with hard water use. I had a kitchen faucet that failed after only 4-5 years. Moen cartridges are quite overpriced but I had good luck getting free replacements and they were easy to diy even for the 25 years old shower cartridges I've swapped out.

You do know you have Costco's lifetime return policy, right? If you don't like it, just return it. Kraus itself also warrants the faucet for lifetime. Although personally, I stick with Delta/Moen/Kolher.
