It's a great time to get back into it, I'm doing the same with Bloomburrows release. Havent played in 20+ years. The FP Commander Starter deck got me back into MTG and introduced me to what Commander is.

I'm pretty sure that "real life" is another reason. I shudder to think of how much time and money I spent on MtG when I played 30+ years ago. At least it kept me off drugs because I couldn't afford them.

I had a lot of fun with friends back then. I don't regret that at all. I just find the idea of thousands of useless cards to be a bit over the top. The game is based on buying volume and throwing away the rest, which is bad.
