According to Quicken site the codes are good for 1 year after purchase and can only be applied in the last 6 months of a current subscription. Seems unlikely you can use for 2 years unfortunately. These go on sale throughout the year, so usually can pick them up for about this price.

I'm using Quicken 2017 still just for my daily bookkeeping tasks and don't need any ONLINE banking feature that Quicken provided.
I couldn't transfer/open Quicken QDF data file to new Laptop to continue using Quicken 2017. Anyone knows how to fix it?
If I need to purchase a new Quicken Classic Deluxe in order to transfer old Quicken data to make it works on new Laptop, do I HAVE TO renew every year in order to make it works continuously even I just use it for my daily bookkeeping tasks ? Thanks!

Thanks for sharing, my Quicken business subscription just ran out last week.

Do they really ship this to you instead of just emailing a code though? Seems ludicrous in 2024.

This is what I also do/did. I had to buy a new license to transfer and import the old file to a new computer and then just let the subscription expire and still use it daily for bookkeeping tasks. No need for the online features or whatever else they push.

Follow everything listed here https://community.quicken.com/dis...arantee/p1
You SHOULD be able to move 2017 to another computer IF you still have access to your old install.

Mint was a good option but Intuit shut it down.

I just need a aggregator to pull all the bank information - so that I don't need to go to each site to download. Any other option?

1. Install quicken 17 onto your new laptop but don't open it.
2. Copy your c:/program data/intuit/quicken folder from your existing laptop and save it to USB drive
3. go to the new laptop and delete the c:/program data/intuit/quicken folder
4. paste the quicken folder from your USB drive to the c:/program data/intuit/folder
5. Copy your data file to your new laptop
6. Double click the data file and it should launch quicken and your data file

Do you get the annoying ribbon back after the expiration? Which is nagging you to reactivate upon every start?

Not quite every restart buy I would say once a month it pops. Simple easy click no and it goes away.

I use their backup and restore functions to transfer data from one pc to another all the time. Give that a try and post any question you might have. Good luck.

I am still using their 2014 version without all the download functions. I use that for budgeting (though it's not very easy to use), tracking my spending, tracking recurring bills, their lifetime planner (i.e. retirement planning, it's quite comprehensive and neat), and tracking net worth. This and Outlook are the only pc software I still use and couldn't find better options. Otherwise, I would have gone mobile and use my fold 5 as my only computing device. HTH.
