For anyone who jumps to check the deal before reading the T&C like I did: "Blackout Dates: All Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and May18, 2024".

Remember, these need to be bought a day in advance. Sometimes conductors are cool with it if you buy it late for the next day; but sometimes not

You can go anywhere from Auburn and Sacramento at the North end, to Santa Clara and San Jose at the South end! I love Capitol Corridor; very nice, clean train and it's beautiful watching the Bay go by.

Pretty much $35 one way. So $35 for 2 fares is not bad if you want to visit those stops on the Corridor. Not too many fun places if you ask me . Plus keep in mind the triple digit head in Sacramento area.

This fare (BOGO on weekends) has been going on for over 6 months - looks like now it's coming to an end on Sep 2?

Is it very scenic? I'm trying to take my dad on a scenic train ride somewhere in the West Coast.

Not super scenic compared to other routes, it's pretty in some spots along the Bay/Delta. Coast Starlight much better scenic route that goes from LA to Seattle. California Zephyr is nice between Emeryville-Reno. Also Pacific Surfliner super nice route between San Diego and San Luis Obispo.

A great day trip to Sacramento from the Bay Area. We did it with our kids when they were little. You can spend the day in old-town Sac and see the impressive railroad museum. Was an interesting and inexpensive way to do something different.
