Would you believe that they make fake copies of these?
Well they do.
Here is a couple of videos to show you how you can tell if yours is real.
This video goes into the details of many things that are different between the real an fake ones. It used to be just a simple one buttone press to tell if it was fake, but some fakes now report 'casio' when you press the one button, but there are other tells. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNnkDyGgvGk

Ordered one because I just learned about this very geeky board replacement you can do. Add more features to your watch, including moon phase and sunrise/sunset time. they are launching a crowdsupply for a newer version, but in case anyone needs a new little project. https://www.oddlyspecificobjects....nsorwatch/
No offense whatsoever, but… honest question; who wears this kind of watch nowadays? I am genuinely curious.
My son has been raiding my closet for my old cargo pants from the 90s which surprisingly is almost exactly what you get from those trendy clothing stores. He wears a watch just like this, in fact I bought him this one!

People who don't want constant text messages, weather notifications, sale alerts, calls, etc coming through to their wrist all day long. People who need to focus and like to surround their selves with adults who can manage their own lives instead of bothering everybody else for every little thing.
I leave my phone on my desk at work and don't look at it for hours at a time while I'm getting stuff done.
I've gone back to using my 1st gen timex ironman triathlon because it gives time, date, and i can use it for timers and alarms as needed. I sign/initial/date papers all day long. It's nice to have a reference that's just always right except for 1 day every 4 years. no picking it up, no turning on a screen, no recharging it, no clearing notifications, just look at my wrist and i have everything i need.
Question for anyone who has this. How do you adjust the band? Do you have to take out links? And can it be made small enough for a 10-year-old? I think my son would love this.
I have the Casio Royale with similar bracelet to this one. You have to remove links in the bracelet to make it shorter. Fairly easy to do just have to poke at the lever that links them together.
I just bought this at walmart for $21. Its easily the best cheap Casio. I love my F91w but the light sucks. This model has an actual usable backlit EL light. The band is also great. Casio watch bands normally don't fit me well but this has an adjustable bracelet like a milanese band. This is an absolute must buy.

This has a sliding bar band, you don't have to remove any links

I would say definitely can be made small enough. My wrist is like 7 inches and I'm nearly maxing it out. Its incredibly easy to adjust. You just need a small tool to lift a bar, and then there is a sliding bar that you just move up and down the bracelet then, then lock the bar back. It takes like 30 seconds max.

If you want a 3 watch collection to can match 99.9% or your wardrobe.
1. A158W - This watch
2. A159W - Gold version of this watch
3. DW5000 - Rugged outdoor version of this watch.
Done.
Pretty much the most versatile 3 watch collection under $100. (Especially if you keep an eye on SD.)
Its light and basic and I think that's the draw.
