Got this chair in all black for $405 over 2 years ago and have been sitting on it every day for countless hours. Very solid and comfortable chair but the back support isn't that great. The mesh material and plastic piece is the only thing supporting your back. Really nice for ultimate breathability but not much in lumbar support and ergonomics.

I'm sitting in this chair and am not a big fan forthe price.
I'm 185lb 6' 1", and the cushion can start to feel thin if you lean back and your sit bones poke in. It has been this way since day 1, but I didn't buy it, so ehhh.

Also, the seat cushion length is pretty short; you won't get much support behind the knee.

If you are under 5 10 and lighter, I'm sure it's a nice chair.

Thanks for the information. Back support is a primary concern for me, so I'll pass on this.

Not saying this is the same chair, but it looks exactly like the $70 chair I sat in at Staples this weekend.

The manufacturer probably pulled it so they can sell at higher price at Costco! What a scam!
That particular model isn't sold at Costco.

Yea I have the 1.0 version of this chair at work and it has an adjustable back that goes up and down. I purchased the 2.0 version during COVID but returned it because I hated the plastic back support and the fact that it didn't adjust up or down.

Bought one of these on offerup from some random guy for like $50.

He said the office where it was at didn't need it.

Do you have the mesh back or the "reactiv"?

Regarding the vision length, isn't it adjustable in and out?

Have about 12 of these HON chair at work (similar, probably an early version) that we bough back in mid 2021. So far 2 of them have "failed". The first one wouldn't maintain height and would slowly sink down. The other one wouldn't return to normal position and is stuck in a reclined position. As far as comfort goes, I feel comfortable even after 8 hours. Feel like these should be no more than 250.

I've had this chair for about 4 years now. Quite comfortable and decently priced chair. Purchased it from an actual Hawthorne dealer. Make sure you get the correct size for your body type. I'm 6'1" 250 with long legs and I fit.

I got the top-of-the-line one (I think it was ~600); since work was paying, I just sorted the prices from high to low.
The base isn't adjustable.

Looks similar to the Novo by SitOnIt seating. https://shop.sitonit.net/en_us.html

My workplace has the high back Wit model and they have all held up really well. Using them M-F 8-5 since late 2017. Ended up getting my wife one since she works from home. Well built for the price. Comfortable but not over the top.

Thanks for posting. I've been waiting for a Crandall sale on a rebuilt Steelcase Leap v2 (I tried the gesture and found it terrible for my back; far too little support). But I'm going to give this Hon a try, with it being from Costco.

I've looked all over and can't see any videos (aside from Hon produced) or even many comments about the reactiv back material. It seems like it's certainly less stretchy than the mash. I saw one dealer comment that was that the mesh was recommended over the reactiv back as people found the reactiv material less comfortable. But then you have several comments saying the mesh isn't supportive enough.

So who knows. I am leaning towards the reactiv back.
I would think twice about ordering a Steelcase from Crandall. They seem like a fine company, but the Steelcase chairs at least don't seem to hold up to disassembly very well. I bought a Steelcase Amia from them and noticed the seat was crooked when I went to sit in it. I decided to return it and they sent a video showing how to disassemble it and pack it for shipping. The process involves taking a pipe wrench to the lift mechanism and you can actually see that the seat on the demo chair in the video is crooked in exactly the same way that mine was. Here's the video in case you're curious:

Really doesn't look worth the price.
