2. The blue fabric on the underside is very thin — be careful not to snag it or you get tiny styrofoam beads EVERYWHERE.
3. The LED light is VERY cheap. On par with those crappy bookfair reading lights from the 80's and 90's
This is truly worth no more than $5. If you buy them, please heed my above advice. I know from experience.

And no, this is not only meant for using on the couch at home. It's meant to be used anywhere where a lapdesk is needed, including car rides, in bed, on the grass, etc.

I agree that the light isn't very useful. Also annoying is that it uses expensive button cells that won't last very long. I may rig some AA batteries to it. Perhaps even in parallel so that it runs much longer. Plus it'll be rechargeable. Should be a 10 min $1 project.
Bought six as stocking stuffers. I may modify all of them before giving as gifts
