I'll upvote a legit flashlight deal.

However this isn't super slick, these can be had for around this price many times every year.

Also, it should be noted because of the way light spread out, in order to get double the brightness of lets say 2k lumens, you would need to go up to 8k lumens. Therefor, 5k lumens isn't that big of a deal or that bright when you can find 2-3k lumen legit (sofirn/wurkkos or Convoy) lights on sale from much cheaper.

This is a good price. It's a few years old, a generation behind on the emitter, but light years behind in using a 26650 cell. Ironically, as the owner of several hundred flashlights, many of which use 26650 cells, I often buy these budget Sofirn and Wurkkos lights with 26650 cells when on sale just FOR THE BATTERY. Take a look at how few, if any, high drain 26650 cells are being sold on the 18650 Battery Store, Liion Wholesale Batteries, Battery Junction, IMR Batteries, etc. If someone asked for the best light they could get right now for $30, I'd suggest the Aplos T03 (same light at the Wurkkos TS23, and made in the same Jinba Tech factory as Sofirn and Wurkkos) at Walmart for $30 with less than a week shipping from within the USA. It has a way better emitter, a modern 21700 cell, a constant current driver, and a great tactical UI.

I just successfully prevented myself from buying another flashlight by hauling out my entire collection and laying it out in front of me. Phew. Just thought you'd all like to know that I escaped… this time.

Yeah I'm on the fence about pulling the trigger on this myself. Partially because I just got Wurkkos TS26S and FC13 in mail today, and I have 9 Convoy/Wurkkos/Sofirn lights already.

This SP33s has almost twice the sustained output as the Wurkkos TS26S as I got today even though both lights have a regulator so the output doesn't dip as the voltage goes down.

This may not be super duper slick, yet it's a really solid deal. I'm curious, do you know any other more compact lights with nearly 2000 sustained lumens at this price point? Asking for a friend, of course 😂😂

You definitely need to keep an eye on sofirn because they're like kohls - retail price means nothing so finding the real sale is a bit of a hunt. That said, around typical black Friday last year they did do some real sales where their 30 dollar lights were sometimes under 20$.

I've seen this SP33S go for as low as $35 on sale before, but it seems to hover around $40. Both Wurkkos and Sofirn do exactly what you say with pricing so you need to look at the specs of the light to see if you are getting a good deal.

Since this light has: XHP70.2 emitter, boost driver, high sustained output, and included 26550 battery, it's actually a good deal. It's not this price usually. Someone on r/flashlight also made a post about this deal and it's getting traction amongst the enthusiast community

Not super slick. Owning both this and the equivalent Wurkkos light, I'd give the nod to the Wurkkos TS22 or TS26s as a better competitor for same price.

Is it me, or does the tint shift on the beamshots look like absolute dog drippings?

Also, not much in the way of long term output graphs.

Tempting as it is to get a sustained almost 2K lumens, I'm not a big fan of the HUGE 26650 batteries, and the beam shots killed the deal. Ive got almost a dozen 21700 lights that are close enough in output, but have much better coloring in a much smaller package.

But YAY to enthusiast flashlight deals!

I'd take my IF25a, with sst20 in 4k over this light any day of the week. I just dont see much real time use for a compact light that has long sustained lumens. If I wanted something for longer distance/throw I would get one of the modern convoy C8s, i forget the newer model numbers that take the 21700s.

My favorite light lately has been the wurkkos fc11 in 2700k I got on sale a few months ago. No it doesn't put out a ton of lumens, but when you see how beautiful the light produced is, it's so hard to go back to this low CRI high lumens lights.

I haven't seen a 26650 before. Here's a size comparison. That's a big boy. The yellow 14500 is AA sized.

The Q8 pro is also $50.99 right now with batteries. I think that's the lowest it's ever been.

Sofirn is king of the budget light right now, reliable and able to deliver at least 90% of what they claim, can't go wrong.

Do I have to disclose that I am getting financially compensated for giving a good review to this flashlight
