Heads up, those considering buying two units for karaoke - the unit allows music to be pumped through in sync to two speakers, but the mic audio will only come out of the speaker that it's paired to, not both. Confirmed this is a limitation with JBL support.

This was a deal breaker for me since my primary use case was karaoke. Just an FYI!

These are great, but mics dont connect with my karaoke machine (Grand Videoke) so it wont give u a score. Also, mics will not connect via TWS thru the Encore Essential. Music will, but mics will only come thru the original speaker

I think you can YouTube karaoke along on your phone ipad or have an app that does karaoke. Basically the speaker have Bluetooth and the microphone already connected to speaker

In one of the reviews, it was mentioned that this model does not have a mic port, so if the included mic stopped working, you won't be able to buy an external set to plug in.

Yeah this is my only grip with this unit. I have the essential version.

Getting a second one that's the essential could be a potential solution best if both worlds.

My wife purchased one at Store today for me and when I just turned Bluetooth on my phone and played Trance EDM music it THUMPED. I was shocked. Even playing other Music was good so we ran back and got another one to pair it for stereo sound. Probably won't use the Mics at all....well maybe to yell stuff to my neighbors. Haha

get 2nd and use stereo with both. Otherwise, get this, worth extra for brand new and 2 mics. Buy decent mic to use mic port is not cheap.

Also, check your local Walmart stores for these too. I've seen them at $99 on clearance at one store near me and ended up grabbing one for my Mom's pool deck. It works absolutely great and is a steal at that price, though $169 I'd still bite I suppose. Can't hurt to check locally first!
