It sounds like you may be thinking that MIPS is a brand - it's actually a layer that is integrated into the helmet that is meant to direct rotational force away from your head. A lot of brands carry both MIPS and non-MIPS helmets, so worth checking out next time you're in the market - especially for high impact sports!
