Unfortunately, yes. My reconditioned mower from them came looking brand new, however, the battery was the first gen 7.5ah. It died within five minutes and wouldn't charge. Ego customer service was excellent and after some troubleshooting, it was deemed a valid warranty claim. The other issue was the new battery took about 2 months to arrive. Luckily, I had two 7.5ah batteries from the snowblower that I used to mow while I waited. Hoping you'll have better luck.

I got a mower with a 7.5 Ah and a leaf blower with a 5 Ah. They were both the older style without the battery gauge. The 5 Ah had no problems but the 7.5 Ah started having issues after a couple years. It works but lasts less than the 5 Ah and randomly stops working.

Looking to get first Electric Machine for Lawn work. I have heard mixed reviews regarding their customer service if an issue arises. Can anyone chime in on if their CS is difficult to deal with?

I'm also in the Ego line, but the local Walmarts were updating their Hart 40V line and clearancing out the current gear this spring, and I found their multi-head string trimmer kit on clearance for $70 and the cultivator head for $30. The brush cutter head sold out before I could get one at $20, but I got one elsewhere at a smaller discount. They've worked pretty well so far.

I also had to have a 7.5ah battery replaced, but my new one arrived in just a few days. This was a couple years ago, though. They said not to bother sending in the old one, so I still have it. I've always wondered if it could be repaired.

The lady I've talked to at the nearest dealer/service center says that their issue is that they haven't built out their customer support system fast enough to keep up with their growing sales. Personally, I've had fast, excellent service both times I've head an issue.

I purchased refurbished Snow Blower, lawn mover and hedge trimmer all through Acme tools this year and quality was and has been fantastic. Equipment looks brand new and batteries show no sign of trouble so far. Everything came in brand new EGO branded boxes with tags still on, manuals in plastic in the box and a packing QA checklist from Acme to confirm testing. Shipping from Acme was faster than quoted. I recommend this store to other lawn Dads I talk to looking to get more Ego gear, prices are better than new at Lowe's or Ace.
