I'm going to somewhat disagree here, 32" does feel like the 4k sweet spot, but I have used multiple 4k 27" monitors on a Mac for years at full resolution, yes the font is small, but still completely usable.

I have read this recently as well. Plus wouldn't you in theory get a better PPI on a 27" w/4k? By the way, how much smaller do you think the font would be as compared to a 27" @ 2560x1440, which is my current non-4k setup? Thank you!

This is very good monitor but know that you cannot run at the native resolution and you need to scale it up for it to show text at legible size. If you run native resolution, the text will super small and I believe you need to run at 150%+ to make it usable. So effectively, for office work, you cannot have the 4k real estate.
For office work, 4k should be at least 32".
Are you saying that from personal experience with this monitor or do you mean in general?

From my assessment, my 27" 4K Acer works well at 100% resolution and I do not have the desk space for a 32" in my face. The font is small, but is totally legible. I have tried 150% scaling on the font (I think 150% or 200% is the default?) and immediately changed it to 100% scaling. The amount of content displayed at once is absolutely vital to me. I have many spreadsheets and use DOORS (which is like a giant cell sheet of test cases and linked docs) for work which absolutely make life easier without having to scroll or tab constantly. I'm a programmer with a 15" 2k res laptop and use a 24" 1080p monitor in portrait mode, and the 27" 4K monitor on the side.

For productivity, the specs on this monitor sound very nice, especially with KVM.

Just my two cents for why I disagree with needing 4k on a 32" display. I'm getting old, but my eye sight is still OK that I don't need to scale to 150%.

I own both. The Philips is a much better monitor in almost every way, it's not even close.

You wouldn't happen to be using this Philips monitor with a Mac would you? If so, how's it look? Thanks!

Yeah, using it with a Mac M1 Max. Works really well so far. I haven't tried the KVM functionality and I don't really like the menu system, but everything else, including the picture quality is really good.

Thank you and ordered! I have a Mac Mini w/M1 chip. Worse case if I don't like it, I'll return to Amazon.

Return 6 monitors over two years trying to find just a simply deep rich black monitor that won't wash out from all angles, and maybe this one will be the one.

Not with this monitor but with: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/ac...66ecgcc4us.
I have mac too and I prefer to scale it up because the text in VSCode is incredibly hard to read at default resolution. Then again, it also depends on your VSCode config and at what font size you run it.

I see what you are saying but straining the eyes just to run at native resolution could be a deal breaker in long run.

How is this compared to recently concluded Dell's 4K monitor deal?

If you shell out an extra $40 you get PHILIPS Brilliance 279P1. Built-in speakers and arguably better sRGB coverage...
