For that price I went ahead and made the purchase last week, and it's arriving today. But I got it for a very specific purpose (and to add to my collection). The retail price on it is nowhere near that these days, since the G100D has replaced it. Even when the G100 was new 4 years ago it had quite a few short comings and wasn't worth the price. No IBIS, 10 minute limit on 4k video, digital IS on video only - at the expense of heavy cropping, micro USB for data/charging, slow mechanical shutter, contrast detect AF. If you know what you're getting, then for this price, it's "decent" - but if it's going to be your only camera there are better options for not much more, or older models at or lower pricing.
This camera has a killer evf as mentioned by reviewers - you have to use it to understand how good it is.
Sensor in the mft realm is as good as it gets until you get into the gh5 and up range (pricey).
Stabilization for video is okay, you can check YouTube videos for this.
The kit lens is also decent and well reviewed.
For $370 you won't find better image quality anywhere else.
Most importantly, size and weight are unrivaled in this class. This thing fits in my medium sized fanny pack with no problems and was great on my recent family trip.
Sure you can get an Rx100 or ricoh gr iii for maximum portability but then you have a smaller one inch sensor and lose the ability to swap out lenses.
If you're on the fence you should buy it and take advantage of eBay's easy returns if you end up not liking it.

Sort of amazing this is the "Smallest and lightest interchangeable lens camera" these days. I have a Lumix GM1 from way back and it's a lot smaller. Same lens system, similar control setup. I'd love to have that programmable dial on the GM1, but I wouldn't give up the build quality or size for it. EVF and articulating screen are nice to haves though.
Point and shoots are making a come back. I see younger folks using them. This is one of the better compact cameras out there. Put on a prime lens, and you'll get excellent quality images.

Great comment thanks for the explanation and saving me or someone else $400 on an impulse buy.

Hard to call this a point and shoot, too big. It's a budget mirrorless.
is this small enough to fit into my front pocket jean?
looking to upgrade to something better than my Canon m200 with the 22mm.
Not even close to being able to fit into jean pockets. I mean maybe if the pocket is rather large and you don't mind it being incredibly awkward and struggling a lot to get it in and out.
A Canon EOS M camera with the 22mm f/2 is still one of my favorite setups when I want something very compact. To beat that you've really got to spend considerably more.
The only reason to consider switching is if Canon's very limited EF-M mount native lens selection is a major issue for you, and you'll be investing in more M43 lenses.
I definitely wouldn't want to pay $370 for a G100 new though, much less refurbished. The main, really only, benefit of buying a G100 is that it has a newer and better sensor than most of the cheaper used M43 models. Otherwise it's one of the most uncomfortable cameras I've ever held (although the M200 is bad in that regard as well) and overall kind of mediocre.

Can you name a couple better options? And why they're better?
From what I have found looking into possibly purchasing this camera, the Canon EOS R50 refurbished can be sometimes had for a little over $400 and is a better camera. It has much better stabilization and doesn't cap out at 30minutes recording. Too bad it's 479 refurbished on Canon's website.

I have the G100 with unlimited video recording including 4K (minimal heating around 30minutes).
This is a great 2nd or 3rd camera for interview/tripod videos since the sensor provides a really nice 1080p 24fps and still one of the smaller newer mirrorless cameras available.
For my needs it works. Bought the body like new from Adorama for $200 2 years ago.

I've been using the Sony ZV-1 for my YouTube videos for the last few years.
(I use a tripod, never handheld if that helps)

Helpful review here that talks about the positives and the shortcomings of this camera.

In my mind, G100 is better in every way than G7, unless you actually want a bulkier body to match your big fancy lens.
Both machines lack IBIS, however.
I heard that there is a hack to unlock unlimited recording but never tried myself.
