This is a nice build the but new Mercedes F1 is way nicer. Only thing I didn't love about the Mercedes is that it has a ton of stickers, I wish more of the pieces were printed instead.
Do you pay $160-$200 for lego toys because such toys are licensed and based on a real brand name vehicle? Yes I do get its 1432 pieces but still isn't this a lot of money for lego set?

I have both of them and I definitely liked the newer Mercedes one. This McLaren version is still expensive for almost an year older set.

Completely agree
Lego created a brilliant constructive toy that entertained children and help to build their creativity and then at some point decided to make it very difficult for the average child to have the oppurtunity to play with this toy.
Me and my cusins had hundreds of thousands of legos we made huge structures and it was awsome.
These are marketed to adults now such a shame

Relax, there's plenty of Legos still marketed towards children. My son has a giant box of mixed Legos and creates his own builds all the time. We also build more complex technic kits together, which teaches him how to read and follow instructions. You can have both.

Sets like this, really all technic sets, fostered my love of mechanics and engineering. Yeah these are the super expensive sets and now accessible to most kids but they sit as a Halo set to work toward. Also, they are a functioning business. they have to market to those with some disposable income so these bigger and more specific sets (think floral, music, and art sets) have been created to appeal to those 80's and 90's kids who grew up with the bricks.
Also, Lego has increased the marketing and product line to kids and work hard to appeal to wider demographics. Take a walk down the aisle in you haven't in a while.
