I just built a PC with my son. He had been saving. I gave him a bit of extra money so he could get the AM5 socket with a ryzen and so he could get DDR5 ram. At least that way, he knows he has potential to upgrade in the future without replacing everything in the system. Just something to keep in mind if you ever plan to upgrade.

Intel has not only confirmed its effecting all 13th and 14th gen non k models but also that includes laptops too, but they even confirmed that the microcode patch won't fix it. Especially ones that have already been damaged. At least Intel is allowing people to RMA and replace their CPUs but it's not a long term solution.
The long term solution is gonna mean to undervolt the CPUs to a much lower voltage. Lower performance. Micro code patches.
Sorry sir it's not fake news because Intel has confirmed it to be true

There is many people including companies, game developers even server deployments and users reporting what their 13/14th gen systems are doing. Reports of latency. CPUs locking up. Blue screens. Etc
At least Intel is finally admitting it and trying to do something about it but it's not likely they will go back and remake those chips instead they will create a lower performance tier profile for the power limits and the microcode patch will hopefully prevent it from cooking the CPUs to death. And future replacements won't degrade in 6 months.
