I bought this when it first came out, believe me, it is built to a price point.
The miter gauge and the fence are absolute garbage, the saw is okay for light-duty work
if you can deal with the very small table.

Does it have that thing where if you try to cut a hotdog the blade vanishes?

Brushless or not, the fence is absolute trash. You will be spending most of your time trying to make sure the fence is parallel to the blade

I've had this since it first came out. It's impressive except for the fence. I can and do rip 3/4 birch plywood for cabinets with ease. Use the 6amp battery as it does make a difference.

Cant tell if youre sarcastic or not, but in case youre serious, that feature is (to my knowledge) exclusive to SawStop table saws. And those are absolutely way more expensive than this

No, it doesn't have the saw stop technology.

That said, supposedly the technology will be coming to other brands in the near future and should become more affordable. So if you're looking to get started with a table saw I'd buy a budget model like this, and hopefully replace it in 10 years.

Now I'm really kicking myself for leaving my 10" Ryobi table saw in the rain that I got from Direct Tools for $100 back in 2020

They've been saying that for years. Any updates you're aware of?

Careful what you ask for. Current legislation if proposing NO table saws can be sold without the technology limited to the one company that makes it. It would make < $500 and possibly up to < $1000 table saws unobtainable and most manufacturers would stop making non-PRO versions. Things like this would no longer exist.

Worse, the proposal is that it would make sale of older unprotected tables saws illegal and use of them outside a home (i.e. small businesses with employees) also not allowed. All the money goes to the one company. They've claimed they will open the license up but there is a whole issue surrounding all this including government regulators and hearings. Watch YT for details.
