That processor definitely supports USB4(40Gbps) but I think Lenovo made a decision to categorize their products. If you want USB4, then buy Legion 7. I don't know if Intel version comes with USB4 or Thunderbolt (both are same things).

Sure it's understood what they're doing with tiers.
All that said, I'm sick of seeing outdated ports in new SKUs.
This is particularly true on machines costing over $1K.

The marketing is quite insidious.

USB 3.3 Gen 1 is actually USB 3.0 from 2008.

Reminds me of back when 768p laptops were advertised as HD concurrently when HDTVs were all 1080.

It was always pretty easy to understand HD was 720p and Full HD was 1080 but yes it's misleading

They weren't called FHDTVs.

Damn, bought the nearly identical one with the older 7xxx CPU. Worth buying this and returning that? Looks like the typical TDP is 15% lower on this one and the integrated GPU is better and the benchmarks are about 20% better.

Not sure why this is downvoted. This is pet peeve of mine. As if usb4 is some super luxurious option. It's like heated seats or cup holders. Should be started, how many should be the only option. We get new cpus almost every year with all this added pci lanes, what's the point if all we ever get is newer m.2 speeds.

First time commenting. Looked like a good deal. Was able to add mil discount for another 80 offSmilie let's see if it survives a deployment. Thanks for sharing!
