FYI the Hydro Boost that was a "deal" on Prime day was counterfeit. The packaging was damaged, the jar was different, and the cream itself was a different color and stiffer consistency than the real thing. I wouldn't recommend buying from amazon

Nope. There is no evidence, proof or statement that this is so. The Neutrogena store link on the Amazon product page only list what Neutrogena products Amazon has for sale. So when it's said to be shipped and sold by Amazon, who knows the source.

Trader joes carries a decent hydraulic acid based serum for pretty cheap. I used to use revitalist but like someone mentioned here getting a fake one from Amazon turned me off to ordering there.

I bought two on prime day. One I received was a US version and box was clean. Product smelled normal etc. The other box was a French version and most likely intended for market outside of US. I believe it was legit but the packaging damaged and the plastic container slimmer.

My two prime day ones look real. They are the same as the ones I got from Walgreens.

Recommend purchasing these sort of products at retailers due to issues with counterfeiting on Amazon. Best prices I've seen on this particular cream is at Costco, especially when they go one sale, and they typically do once sometimes twice a year at which time I typically purchase two 2-packs. Happy shopping SD'ers!

Any reason it can't be used in the daytime: photosensitivity etc.?

looks okay. Usually nighttime creams are a bit thicker and sometimes greasier which you don't want in the day. Hyaluronic acid mostly just helps retain moisture, despite acid in name it doesn't really burn or anything like that. Retinoids (e.g. adapalene) that cause faster skin turnover are usually the products that increase photosensitivity. Due to texture though, I'd personally rather get a daytime lotion and also use at night rather than vice versa (or ideally just buy 2 products)

The Costco one is the cream while the prime day one was the gel. I wish Costco sold the gel version. They aren't the same.
