I have this one among several others.
Probably the least useful attachment I've come across for any vacuum smaller than a "5-6 HP" shop vac. Unlike standard brush attachments (that feature a "fully" enclosed bristle setup), using this cross pattern on a smaller shop vac or battery vac results in 3/4 of the suction being diverted away from the direction your pushing. This means that it doesn't pick up debris nearly as quick. It also has a cross directly in the path of the debris, so anything larger than a quarter gets stuck in the way.

For this price, I would add it to try if I didn't already have it.
Just know that it's a potentially flawed design to begin with.

It might make a better tool if I take some scissors to it and shorten the bristles (to increase suction). If you have a spare standard bristle brush, you can just notch "gaps" around the perimeter to make a similar tool if you have spares.
Something like this.

The 3 in 1 crescent tool is excellent and the reversible/removable bristles are a great feature. Great for breaking up dust/debris in narrow areas. The plastic is also very durable and makes a great tool to hit things with. Something stuck in the hose? whack the crap out of it without worrying that it will break.

Agreed. If you want a solid round bristle brush, you can't beat the real horse hair brushes that are cheap on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Black-Roun...ef=sr_1_6?

If you really think the brushes are the issue and not your vac, have you tried cutting them down so they're shorter?

This should increase the suction to the surface.

The cross pattern is really meant for targeted brushing of an area, so that debris is loosened and vacuumed at the same time.

I have shop vacs in almost every size and class available. Hence why I said it does not work well in anything below a "5-6HP".
It's OK with the biggest shop vacs but nothing special. I listed more problems than just the bristles and even offered solutions. I don't know what else to tell you.

But did you actually try it?

If that's all it takes to resolve the issue, then it's worth a buy.

The cross section is for targeted brushing, not the typical sweeping you'd do with a perimeter bristle attachment, so I'm not too concerned with how much suction is happening outside of that area. Getting pet hair out of upholstery is an ideal use, for instance.

Also, shop vac HP is not a universal measurement. You have to take into account hose diameter, hose length, filter type, whether a bag is used, whether the exhaust has a diffuser, and in some cases even the canister size.

You're approaching this from the wrong angle.

You provided a theory. Since you already own one and don't like how it performs anyway, the next step would be to test that theory. You could then provide a conclusion on whether your theory worked or not.

It would simply be to the benefit of others deciding whether to buy this.

I bought one of these at HD about 3 months ago for $5. They can't give them away. The brush head is an "X" config vs a round one, making it much less useful.

Not worth it even at this price ...

The cross section is meant to target an area that needs scrubbing.

If you didn't comprehend that from the description, that's on you.

With a traditional round brush, the crap gets pushed out away from the suction. This is designed to loosen the stuff within the area of the suction. But if this isn't your cup-of-tea, they make half a dozen other brushes to fit your particular needs.

According to the description and pics, it looks like a 90ยบ angle, so there's not a lot of room for change.

Also according to the description, the brushes are "agitating brushes"... seems like they're doing their job in this thread.

Thank you everyone, try the veal and don't forget to tip your server.

You must be a Milwaukee fanboy, right? Defend them to the last ...

The cross-section is not even close to robust enough to "scrub" anything. that's on Milwaukee. When you see a manufacturer's product sitting on the shelf, with a thick layer of dust on it, unsold even at 75% off ... that's on them!

I provided my opinion (which was free), and some ideas (also free). I don't feel I need to spend money to prove one person on the internet wrong.

You are the one who approached this from the wrong angle. Instead of politely asking for me to try it (which I would have) you've questioned everything I've said and proved multiple times that your reading comprehension is nil.

You've avoided my other problems with the product and solely focused on the bristles. cutting the bristles will not solve the fact that there is a cross piece directly in the way that gets clogged with any debris of moderate size. This also does not solve the fact that while the attachment can fit "all sizes". All the air and debris is restricted to the smallest size because of the hybrid hose attachment design.

I stand by what I said. If you would like to test the "theory", then buy it. It's only $7. Though to test a theory, you need a sample size of more than one. So buy 10 and feel free to post here again. Copy me in your response in a week or two and I will respond if you truly need some validation.

I have this, if you have a miter saw/table saw, or any tool that generates alot of sawdust, this makes it so much easier than a full brush head to pickup said saw dust. Where as the full brush heads are a head ache where you have to angle them to pickup.

Now saying that this tool is useless for picking up pretty much anything else
