Keep an eye out. I've bought the one I linked in 120V for under $400 multiple times with eBay codes.

costway is made by aux?

also wonder why no ahri on those, those are required for the energy rebates. not knocking they could have it, just didn't see it listed (costway does though on their models).

That remote control is Aux, so anywhere you see it. They're trying to get rid of em all over.

The new costway model is midea, but overpriced as usual.

Idk, never looked at paperwork. I just install em, b/c not getting any rebates, here, unless it's signed by legit installer.

I just started out doing mine/friends/family. I plan on buying a nitrogen tank soon. I'm not really concerned about my connections, but coils leaking, so that's my incentive for pressure testing. Right now I just make sure the flares are good, nylog and tq to spec (and of course vac). I have 6 that have been installed for over a year and work perfectly.

I got a micron meter, but haven't used it, yet. I guess I should do that on the next one 🤣

Yeah same as i was thinking, pressure these things work under and that these are cheaper units a pressure test seems like a good idea so you can complain sooner rather than after warranty in case of a very small leak. Probably can't go wrong either way, vac and rip is valid too at these price points and get a few years use..from what read you could pressure test to operating specs and leak past the valves holding the charge in some cases too, and if you don't ptest up to operating specs is it really even a test and even THEN at pressure these operate under, cheap manufacturing they're all bouund to leak at some point just when maybe. Part way psi seems like a good idea to rule out any obvious stuff as well as micron yeah.

That's a TCL rebrand, not a Midea rebrand.

Hmmm, by the specs and parts I ASSumed TCL didn't actually design anything.
The PCBs are similar, but not the same. Well, don't I look stupid. 🫣🤦

In any case, though, the TCLs are better than midea counterparts, imo, unless you're in a warm climate. Midea heat output on the affordable units suck.

Cheap condenser all around (small and light). Lower efficiency. Limited fan/capacity variability. Aluminum line set. Poor heating below 20* (shuts off below 5). No wifi.

Cheaply made and packaged very poorly. Received mine from the previous sale and it was damaged so much in shipping, the condensor side pushed into the fan making the unit worthless. Huge dent on the top as well.

The whole unit is flimsy, so no wonder it damaged so easily. I wouldn't expect this to last very long, maybe a couple years max. But at this price these become disposable.

Their customer service is also terrible, it's been a week and I'm still waiting on a return shipping label after multiple phone calls and emails.

I bit because of the price and solid specs, but lesson learned. I'll be going with a reputable brand now.
