This is my first post so sorry if I missed anything. I just got my 2025 Leaf leased yesterday from Boulder Nissan and the price actually is $9/mo. 24 month, 10k miles per year lease. This is the cheapest monthly I've seen in CO.

Total costs:
Dealer fees + sales tax = $2300
Optional damage coverage = $600
Lease return fee = $320

Yes, gas powered is the only way to go!
Plenty of articles out "there" lately, discussing that almost half the current EV owners regret their purchase and are going back to gas powered engines asap.
Thumbs down don't change the truth!!..lol
True Americans should go EV. They are powered by American sourced energy. Why depend on anyone else. Oil is a worldwide commodity that has dragged us into international quagmires. Unless the US takes over the oil companies we will always be tied to OPEC and world price fluctuations.

? You know people who have solar and living a place where they can produce good amount of solar energy, has been pretty much electricity independent for a very long time.
My yearly gas cost was close to $10,000 dollars, in Southern California and with Costco gas. And now I'm driving the same distance, was twice the horsepower, zero gas or electric bill.My panel produced, on average year round, 50 kilowatt hours per day.

I mean if you happen to have a oil field and refinery in your backyard, you'll be crazy to not drive a gas car, this is the same logic.
This is the type of response we should have. I think there are geographic reasons to have specific fuel types, and this makes total sense.

I like saving money, ie slickdeals, but I don't like being forced into one thing or another. If something works for you then why not go that route.

I have looked into solar, but the payback period is over 20 years where I live, Indiana, and thus would make zero sense. However, I would jump at the tech that could save me money.

Awesome that this works so well for you.

On a side note, I bought a 2000 Honda Insight years ago because it saved me money on gas, not for the political stance. It is funny how political thought can be tied to tech.

Nissan sales were down 99% this last quarter,I would be worried about them closing up and winding up with a broken car with no parts or repair support. Most mechanics know nothing about EV.

Nissan profit falls 99% on U.S. downturn

U.S. sales were hit by an aging product portfolio and a lack of hybrids.
Nissan isn't going anywhere soon, they're a major car company. There's also a massive difference between total sales and profits.

Misleading pricing in your post.

The effective monthly cost is $143/month. This is the real cost.

Dealers advertising $9/month doesn't mean much when the real costs are hidden in up front fees.

I have relatively irrelevant question. Is that true Cali charges tax when reverse your electricity to grid ?
When you produce more electricity than you use, they buy it for 11 cents a Kilo Watt and sell it to your neighbor for 38 cents plus you will have to pay subscription to grid fee no matter what

What do you mean $0 down. Looks like it's $3200 down.
Yes, either you pay $3200 for Leaf S or Hyundai's Ioniq 5 SEL trim for $5000 (one pay including taxes)

I went for Hyundai's Ioniq 5 over Leaf because of following reasons
1. Ioniq 5 is lot better looking vehicle then Leaf
2. Ioniq 5 has more features than Leaf S.
3. Ioniq 5 has 300+ range, whereas Leaf S has around 130+.
4. Ioniq 5 comes with 2 Year free fast Charging with EA.

If you ever traveled you might have noticed there is no place to refuel. I haven't seen one in my city yet. They probably do have a couple by now. Didn't see it in 2020 tho. Aiin the 14th largest city in usa (out about 300, 000 cities) I seen 3 in some far out boonies ultra rich brand new suburburbs close to Redmond Washington on the other side of the map. . But they wouldn't be able to leave their extremely small undeveloped cities to go anywhere.

This is Colorado too. Nothing but dust an ranches in between the east an west coast
Majority of EV owners charge at home, in their own garage. The only time they need a charging station is when traveling long distances, 300+ miles. If you travel this much daily, then better to get a gas car.

WTH is going on in CO? Is all that weed you're selling that's causing these "deals"?

what's with those taxes? On a lease, you don't pay the full taxes, it's on a monthly plan. Here in Pittsburgh, we have a 7% tax, and there is an additional 3% for a lease. So you do pay a 10% per month tax on a lease, based upon the monthly payment. When I leased my Altima, it was $199 per month plus the tax, so I was paying $220 per month

So affording to you half of EV owners are happy with their purchases? Odd, that really changes your statement doesn't it?

And just because you declare something true, doesn't mean it is.

*Side note, I'll never understand how fragile some drivers are to scream their negativity every time they see a car or truck they don't like. EV vs gas, Ford vs Chevy, etc. Like walking into a ice cream shop then yelling at all the customers because YOU don't like certain flavored frozen milk desserts. Zero intention to ever buy something, just wanting to stand on their little soap box saying 'lOoK aT mE' while ruining everyone else's day;

"Thumbs down don't change the truth!!..lol" (see how that works Smilie)

I think one of the CO rebates is income-based so that could change numbers also. I just have a really difficult time taking advantage of EV deals when my ICE car is running perfectly fine and paid off. I also can't imagine the insurance on a leased car is going to be lower than my 10 year old car. I drive 3 miles round-trip to work, and an EV would be perfect since I also don't do road trips often. Of course, a motorized bike would work too...
