This is my first post so sorry if I missed anything. I just got my 2025 Leaf leased yesterday from Boulder Nissan and the price actually is $9/mo. 24 month, 10k miles per year lease. This is the cheapest monthly I've seen in CO.

Thanks for the update! That solar production seems to match the average electric use for the typical household. I like the idea of zero or near zero maintenance, but of course the battery replacement cost is massive. Do you find auto insurance for EVs is truly 2 to 3x higher? With the diff tech, there have to be diff expectations.. so applying the old rules of thumb is not going to always fit.
Insurance goes up like crazy every renew term in California so it's hard to tell how much vs others car. But we have Tesla's insurance for our 2018X and 2021Y at 100/300/100 coverage for 3k per year. Our model X has almost 80k mi and battery degradation of ~8% at 266m per charge vs new at 295m.
Like I said, we change to new car 5-10yr anyway so...
6yrs old used X would be around 40k now vs new at 80k, seem to be on pav with other lux car like Mez, BMW... even Lexus
Leasing a vehicle is like renting an apartment. You always lose. In this inflationary environment you want to own assets, not rent or lease. Leasing is for rich people with money to burn, or if you do the math and it works out in your favor to buy out the lease.
u have to include those fees into the monthly cost. this is why when you lease you should never ever put anything down and focus on the resulting number. more straightforward.
If you take into account that there's apparently $3,200 in fees amortized over 24 months, I'm doing the math in my head but I still think that's only about $140ish a month. Plus the $9 lease fee. So for $150 All in releasing a very nice truck which is still an incredible deal. Just have to be careful that you watch your mileage since it's only 10,000 a year and that's where the money can start adding up

100% of what you say may be made up. There is plenty of news and hard data that shows EVs may not be the best choice for anybody and are not the pipe dream many were fed. The complete industry is kind of a mess. You have to separate reality from the political based messages you have been fed.
Hertz is ditching even more electric cars
The rental car company has been selling off EVs in droves after saying it would order 100,000 Teslas in 2021 https://qz.com/hertz-ev-sales-tes...1851438100
Some of the comments here are like seeing a debate between vegetarians vs meat eaters lol. Grow up guys.
Sure EV isn't for everyone, nor is leasing. But for many it may make sense, especially for those that don't want to commit to an EV just yet, so just lease one for 2 years as a trial.
I leased a Leaf , sure if you compile all charges and spread over 2 years its like $130/month (even cheaper at other dealerships).
But I accumulate about 9k miles a year in my daily driver that gets about 20mpg city. So I spend roughly $3200 in fuel over 2 years. But my job has multiple EV chargers that means I won't have to pay to charge this ever. So for my situation it pretty much evens out after 2 years, but the nice thing is I don't put all this wear and tear on my other cars.
I still have the big family car for road trips and performance car for weekend drives.
I think you could probably buy a new Leaf for about $10k. The dealer was telling me it comes out to about $13k brand new with all incentives from MSRP, so I'm sure you can negotiate a bit to get that down.
But I'm not ready for that yet, maybe in 2 yrs. We'll see.
Just walked out with the same lease terms but for $500 down with $21.23 a month which comes to $1010 at Schomp in Littleton. They have all the colors in stock. Ask for Shami. He was helpful.
Don't worry! There will be plenty of EVs, as people who are 10x smarter than you will only keep improving the tech. Anyway, why are you so pressed about EVs? If you don't like them, why bother opening this thread and arguing with people who do? At the end of the day, they're just cars. I don't understand how anyone can spend so much energy disliking a tool that's just meant to take you from point A to point B.
There are car enthusiasts out there who love cars and car culture. You're not one of them. But that's you.
I would seriously consider this if it was available for me. If I could get 2 I would put one on Turo to make money. My neighbor has a Leaf on Turo that is always being rented. If it gets close to the mileage I would just take it off Turo for a little bit.
First CO2 is not a poison in any sense of the word. It would be like saying oxygen or water is a poison. C02 at increased levels and low levels in our atmosphere have never poisoned anything. In fact periods with high levels of CO2 seem to be some of the richest in life. Increased levels increase more green on the planet and do not poison anything. what life feeds on is not a poison

Yes, gas powered is the only way to go!
Plenty of articles out "there" lately, discussing that almost half the current EV owners regret their purchase and are going back to gas powered engines asap.
Thumbs down don't change the truth!!..lol
So you made claims about what other people think. The people said otherwise, and you're denying reality.
