If you're plopping $300 down on a wifi system might as well spend a little extra and future proof it by going unifi.

What are other options at this price point? The price difference to future proof is double. This works for most people. I bought it and have a 1GBPS speed, and it's transmitting 50% of that speed consistently across the house. House size 2800 sq. Ft. With finished basement. On the first floor I get 850 mbps speed.

A simple search would show you wifi 6e unit for $299, far superior to this

For $50 less you can get the dramatically faster and more stable TP Link AXE5300 at Costco. I switched from these Orbis to those and was very happy for doing so.

If you're ok with one slightly worse radio, the Linksys mx5300 could be an option. It has one 5ghz radio that's ac instead of ax.
That's only $90 for a two pack refurb currently.

The orbi is also Qualcomm based, Ipq5018 and runs firmware based on an old version of openwrt. I've been running openwrt snapshots on my mx5300. You'll need to do the configuration more manually with openwrt. You get a lot more controls and options though.

Hi Aogen, Can you please suggest some configuration from UNIFI side. I've a 3 level house and seeing frequent drops in both the floors even though I've kept 3 routers(mesh). I'm hearing about UNIFI (ubiquiti) and want to move forward and couldn't find a proper set-up models for the house.
Thanks a lot in advance
