These older surfaces you really need the 16gb of ram. I got a 16gb ram version of this laptop 3 for 200 on fleabay. Fantastic machine for the price but I don't think 8gb cuts it anymore.

This just barely clambers over the minimum requirements for windows 11. Probably okay for the time being, but I doubt this has a long service life ahead of it.

Agree. This CPU is slow. It's a mid-2019 release CPU that's about 1/2 the speed of the 2020 Macbook Air M1 (according to Passmark scores), priced at $650/$699 at Walmart.

It's pokey.

In the good news side, Windows 10/11 easily handle firmware updates, and the driver situation is easy to handle and update (well supported straight from within Windows), so that's all nice. Microsoft keeps releasing firmware updates every month or two, so that's beneficial.

This is an excellent machine to have on your home tech museum. Well made close to a macbooks. Screen is amazing and windows hello are amazing but spec meh.

I need a decent cheap win11 laptop just for stuff I need to do on windows vs Mac. Random utilities or modding stuff I can't easily do on my MacBook Pro, sometimes USB gets janky through parallels. Would this be good enough if it's just a super light infrequent use device?
