The VH31 movement is by Seiko and runs off a battery but looks like an automatic since the seconds hand moves 4 times a second instead of one.

For an automatic with Seiko written on the dial, not just the moment, the OP is a pretty good deal. Close to the price these Seiko 5s were a few years ago.

When you're purchasing a Grand Seiko, you aren't thinking about slick cost savings. You are really thinking about how slick the time piece is. At least that's what I thought for my GS GMT. Amazing detail, excellent time keeping and just a beauty.

Do not buy! Three months ago I bought the same one from Jomashop and after 2 and half months stopped working. It is nice looking but made in Malaysia. I call SeikoUsa and they said that Jomashop is not authorized. Waist of money!
