Please allow me to answer. This pretty much explains it all:

"Slickdeals.net is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

pay-per-sale: In this type of program, the merchant pays an affiliate when the affiliate sends a customer who makes a purchase. Some merchants pay the affiliate a fixed rate per sale while others, like Amazon, pay a percentage of the sale.

pay-per-click: In this arrangement, the affiliate is paid based on how many visitors arrive at the merchant's site via the affiliate link, and the affiliate is paid regardless of whether visitors make a purchase.

pay-per-lead: This type of program pays affiliates based on the number of visitors to the merchant's site who sign up as leads or fill out the requested information on the website."

In other words, it doesn't have to be a good deal or even a deal to get posted. Slickdeals is owned by Goldman Sachs and those links, pay-per-click, and affiliate fees add up to an immense amount of money paid out by Amazon and others.

It produces much better results, as it actually holds the pill in place.

If any of your pills are oblong, the one in this post will always produce uneven splits.

I cut several of my medications and use the Dollar Tree pill cutter.

I get about a year out of one before it breaks. The "spring" section snaps and it is done.

I am in for one as will be cutting tablets for a good long while and it would be interesting to see how long this one lasts.

for whatever reason I never had good luck with these, the ones with the rubber center part. You would think it would grip the pill better, but the cuts are never straight. I think the solid plastic ones are better [amazon.com]

Actually, I think it has more to do with the pill than the splitter when it comes to whether it's a nice even cut or messed up one. There are some scored pills that I can't split smoothly no matter which (of 3) splitters I use. I got so frustrated that I asked the pharmacist to split them for me (RX calls for 1/2 tablet), and was told they don't do that.

Not the item, per se. I have one myself. And yes a lot of people have medication but probably a small percentage of those that use a pill cutter. What's word is that it's a $4 thing you can get cheaper or even free at the store. And it's like a dollar off. Here

My wife takes a medication that needs a pill cut in half. We have a similar model from Walmart and I have used it about 700 consecutive days and it still works just fine. No way I'd consider not having on of these, way too convenient.
