From what they posted, it is going to be a subset of the PS VR2 experience. Not bad as an additional use. But if you are looking primarily for a PC VR rig think the current consensus is to get a PC VR headset.

Am I mistaken, or is this an insane deal? (Do I wake up the wife..🤔.)

I wish that consumers had a way to try these out before buying. I suspect Sony might've sold quite a bit more of these if people had that opportunity somehow. I've had interest since Day 1 but I have eye issues and paying so much for a device that is a total up in the air buy that hasn't been supported very well has been too much for me.

Also note that if you have psvr games, they are not compatible with psvr2 . You are just better off getting a oculus quest, thr library their will continue to be compatible with future quest releases. With Sony, looks like you will need to upgrade vr console and library every generation

Just further proved Sony has given up on the VR. As a Sony loyalist this is the one product I can't get behind for $500 and still at $350 I have to think about it. Probably won't bite and buy the Oculus 3 later on because my original Oculus is actually still going strong.

I disagree. The tech was a huge change from psvr1 to psvr2. Psvr2 now uses the same basic technology as all other vr headsets so there shouldn't be any reason you'd have to update your psvr2 collection if the psvr3 comes out. That's part of the reason why it is about to launch on PC and you can play any of the pc vr games that are out there.

The Resident Evil games are amazing on PSVR2, but GT7 is the crown jewel
Worth it just for gt7 thats all I use it for and paid full price. Imo totally worth it nothing like it even on pc due to it's plug and play accessibility.

Is this worth it? I looked up popular games and it's the same ones largely available for the Oculus 2. Although GT7 could be legit.
I heard No Man's Sky on PSVR2 was mostly the same game in VR, but a little blurry all over so not as fun… but after the foveated rendering update, it got really good and is on par or better than the game on other systems.
Although if you've played NMS already and didn't like it, I don't know if it's worth getting - I haven't really seen the PSVR2 version for myself.
But yeah VR is really made for games like GT7 where you drive and are required to look around.

Gonna wait and see how it performs on PC first. Sony has pretty much ghosted any serious support for this thing so it's most likely going to be around this price for the holidays.
Adapter launches in about a week. If it's rubbish, I can still return. If not, I got my deal locked in

shopmyexchange also has the bundle for $379 and tax free for military and veterans https://www.shopmyexchange.com/so...le/3611325

I'm personally waiting for this to be $199 or lower like the original PSVR bundle. The fact PSVR2 is not backwards compatible with PSVR games, or PS5 not playing 3D Blu-ray which makes PSVR2 not being able to play them either made no sense. About 80% of my PSVR usage was to watch 3D movies, 20% to play its rather limited selection of games. So PSVR2 is almost a downgrade to PSVR despite its various improvements hardware-wise.

I would expect this to go the way of the Vita, it is a fine system that no kne bought and eventually, if you are fast enough, they will end up in stores like Ollie's for $200. I have both the quest 2 and this, I never use this mostly due to it being wired. It is a fine system though and worth $550.
