This is a good deal.

The cheapest this 4070 / 32gb model has been until today was $1,749.99…

The 4060 / 16gb model was $1099.00 like two weeks ago….

This is a great deal, that's why I'm shocked they didn't drop the 4060 price with it.

1600 for a laptop with an 8GB gpu and a screen that it already can barely push? Why are you people so desperate to get ahat ASUS dingus in your mouths. I have a G14, cool little laptop but yall clamoring for the privilege of paying $1600 for a laptop that doesnt have a proper amount of Vram for the resolution is just silly.
Alright smart guy - show me a laptop that performs better for the price (while still having all the desirable features this machine has).

I highly doubt it but maybe if you're worried don't redeem them until you're sure or once you're past the return window.

Anyone have any experience between this and the14 in MacBook Pro m3 max 36gb ram for Machine Learning? I only game here and there. I know a custom build PC is better but I am always on the go and I'm paranoid about leaving the computer on to SSH into while I'm gone.
What type of machine learning? If you're training an LLM you'd probably be better off doing it in the cloud. If I had to pick one though for your specific use case I'd probably go the M3 Max since you'll be able to utilize a decent chunk of that 36gb whereas on the Asus you are limited to 8GB GPU VRAM.

That's what I was thinking. I saw a post on Reddit that you can allocate more than 2/3 of the ram and leave 4gb for the OS (Mac by default allocated 2/3). So would be able to use 32gb for llm. Thanks for the input!

I have this model right now and the 14" screen is too small for gaming in my opinion. I might just return it and wait for a deal on the 16" variant.
Screen is fine. 16" laptop isn't portable, more of a desktop replacement.

Lenovo Legion Slim 5 OLED with 32GB will be several hundreds less, will run cooler also. You're welcome.
The Lenovo is also larger and heavier. Noticeably.

Second great deal that I've taken advantage of in three weeks. I love/hate you Br. Dr. Wajahat :-) Thank you for finding this! (The hate is only coming from my bank account.)

I've seen this often, how is the smaller laptop usually more expensive than the G16?
Besides the different form factor (and the increased engineering challenges that come with making a smaller gaming laptop), the G14 has the following advantages

Better CPU
Better screen
More (fixed) RAM

when compared with the G16.

I've owned a 2021 and a 2023 model of these as work and light gaming laptops. Both never lasted for more than 2 years before having issues. I don't recommend buying it. I don't know what company doesn't have quality issues, but this one seems to be consistent. It also gets very hot, even when you tinker with the fan curve and other settings. I went as far as replacing all of the thermal paste and pads with no appreciable improvement to stability.

I agree. I owned this for about a week and 14" is way too small. I now have a Legion 7i Pro Gen 9 with an RTX 4080 and couldn't be happier

I just returned mine today. 14" is too small for gaming and even for productivity. With the slim factor of the zephyrus, I rather get the 16" when on sale.

I'd be all over it if this was 16", even if it was a little bit more.

Really wanted to enjoy this computer since it got good reviews, but I ended up returning it because it ran extremely hot. It would suddenly shut off while I was playing my game. I ended up with the Lenovo Legion 7i. Good luck with this purchase.
