This is not a good choice; the related T7 Shield is surprisingly and dramatically better-performing because of DRAM (not just the rubber housing). I got T7 Shields at 2TB for $130 each a few years ago. This fake inflation on SSDs by multinational conglomerate pigs needs to stop.

I paid $99 for the 2 TB a year ago as I needed it for a trip. I thought at that time it should have been $89 !

I bought a 4 TB before that, but don't know where I got it, so can't check the price. That one stays connected to the Mac mini.

How good is the T7 in 2024? I got the T9 and it was ok when transferring photos directly from iPhone 15PM to T9.
