I'm guessing this only works for people on the old price up for renewal at the new price. I'm currently on the new price and did not get the pop up for the discount

Just renewed Nest Aware at the end of June for $80, but was able to apply for the $40 offer for next year. from within the nest app.

According to the terms TOS, this is a one time offer and it will not pop up again if you close the offer out without accepting it. Pretty cool of Google to allow this offer to apply to next years subscription.
