Data caps, data caps, data caps. If you are stuck with Comcast like I am in my current location the only way to not get stuck with BS data caps is go for their full unlimited plan. It was $80 a year for 2 years for new users. It comes in at 1.4Gb/44 and has no data cap if you are power user. My only other option is Verizion home internet that maxes at a whopping 210/7. That's not good enough for my use or even basic use in my opinion. 2 Fiber companies are supposed to be expanding in our area over the next year. Can't wait for that. My Fiber in Portland was amazing.

Just drop to 500 and get the XFi box which is included for free for 2 years. Data cap is waived.

That's $75 with the xfi complete for 500 in my area. $95 for 1GB xfi plan or $100 for complete unlimited 1.4G at the current specials. The full unlimited was $80 for my last 2 years since I moved here. I went to renew and complained about the price increase to contract rate and they gave it to me for $90. For either $15 or $25, however you choose to look at it, I'll take the full unlimited plan over the 500.

YES..... If you're not located in a major city where Comcast has competition and exempts the caps.
$30 for unlimited on any Internet only plan AND
$14 modem rental fee.... However

The only decent workaround is to get the XFi complete add on. You Pay the extra $25 a month ( on any Internet package) and get their modem rental included, an Xfinity version of a Roku box , and unlimited data all in one for the flat fee.
They fully control and monitor your activity using their equipment and also sells your activity for advertisers. So basically you pay them for them to use you. Granted, they still monitor you when use your own equipment but to a lesser degree. First thing is to change the DNS setting in your modern and router to something like 1.1.1.1. Of course, you might not be able to do so on their equipment.

You're better off cycling with a new contract than renewing. The pricing will be lower. FWIW, rententions offered me $80 for 1GB. New customer pricing is $65 + 1 free unlimited line.

will never trust CONcast/Xfinity again. They steal bandwidth from consumers to repurpose. I work at home, and I regularly suffered periods of 1 mbps (yes, '1' and 'm') or LESS during business days; and, despite my every effort, appeal, pursuing every address they offered, zero improvement (more accurately, continued abuse).

Thank all that is good in the world, google Internet came along -- I signed up post haste, told CONcast to KMA, and I've never looked back.

If you can get google Internet, don't walk ...RUN to it. 500mb every time I've run a speedtest, and ZERO downtime in eight (8) years. $55/m guaranteed to NEVER INCREASE.

Am I supposed to add it to the cart? It just adds the cost. But when I don't add it it does show the promo includes the free mobile line. How is this supposed to work?

Just remember if you cancel your current Xfinity account you can call back later with a different name but same address and be considered a new customer

How is it ripping people off? It states clearly " Customers who use more than 1.2 TB of data in a month for the first time will not be billed for exceeding the limit. After that, blocks of 50 GB will automatically be added to your account for an additional fee of $10 each plus tax. Charges will not exceed $100 each month, no matter how much data you use." Don't spread rumors dude
The limit is the same for all plans. What is the point of a paying for a higher speed. All you do is hit the cap quicker.

I recently signed up for Xfinity with $30/mo including device rental, still have data cap which I am dreading I will cross one day.

I also have offer to sign up for one mobile line for $40/mo and receive $20 discount on internet (making mobile line $20/mo).
