Nah, they sold it off to some random Japanese owners in 2015. They're small and only in Japan. Rip, I loved my Vaio Z 2010 version.

The Japanese laptop manufacturers have basically completely abandoned the global market in favor of producing extremely-Japan centric laptops. There is just enough of a corporate market in Japan to sustain the VAIO's or the Panasonic's but not much more beyond that. Since Japan's corporate culture is super conservative and old, that has resulted in an extremely retro look to basically of them. Notable the usage of many seemly old/odd ports (VGA), the insertions of interesting features (DVD drives) and simply quirky stuff from a bygone era that older workers still remember (the Panasonic's Let's Note laptops still use a round touch pad design they invented from 30 years ago!).

One big driver of cost is that VAIO's (sans their FE/Walmart model) and Panasonic's laptops are still made in Japan
