Doesn't look like these are manufacturer refurbished. Given this CPU is now 2 generations old, there could be off lease computers refurbished by some 3rd party. I only trust manufacturer refurbished products. Otherwise "refurbished" is a total lottery.

2 gens old, but hey, Intel's probably not hiding an oxidation scandal with these...!

Is this touchscreen?
Currently have Yoga C930 and realized that I don't need tablet mode but it's nice to have touchscreen to occasionally sign documents.

What generation are they on now? I am in need of an upgrade, but not urgently. Are the latest generations worth it, or worth waiting till 2025?

I must say I bought a Refurbished Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon model with the Intel Core i7-3667U processor (1st generation I think) on Ebay back in May 2016, it died last week (fan error). I paid $545 for it at the time, assuming it was a great deal since that laptop usually sold for 3x+ as much. The webcam didn't work but I didn't care much as I was stoked to have a ThinkPad for a fraction of the price. With that said, I'd recommend this product.

They are currently on Gen 12. I am typing this from a Gen 12 and it is by far the best laptop I have ever owned (coming from a Dell XPS 15).

Great battery life, super lightweight, beautiful screen.

Used it once for a pair of headphones I got on Amazon (add-on), they sent me a label to send in my headphones due to poor battery life, they replaced the battery and sent it back. Turn around time was 2 weeks.

I have an X1G9 with 16GB of RAM - thinking about selling it and getting this. Probably a free upgrade.

32GB of ram is really nice to see - this laptop will last 10 years easily.

It's not dead. Remove and clean the fan, then clean the crusty thermal paste from the CPU and reapply new thermal paste.
It will work. Trust me. I just did this last week.
