I got this during Prime Day when it was about five bucks more. The piece where your forearm rests was broken, but I super glued it back together. I bought it to try to find my wedding ring that I think is somewhere in my backyard, but I'm not 100% sure. In about an hour of surveying my backyard, I did come across two screws, a washer, and a nickel, so it does work. Those were no more than an inch beneath the dirt, though, so I don't know how well it would work with deeper objects. I did test it with my wife's 14K gold ring, which was thinner, and it had no problem finding it. Sure, you can probably get better results with the expensive detectors, but for finding things or just curiosity, this works fine.
