RYOBI ONE+ HP 18V Brushless Cordless Jig Saw (Tool Only)
($67.10/item after hack, originally $129.00)
Source: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../314109552

Lowest price seems to be $100 on a HD price tracker site. So it may be a pretty slick deal.

This deal requires a bundle of a battery, then returning the battery to work.

Credit to user Deal Score for the recent front-page deal on a Ryobi router, as that is how I found this possibly slicker deal! I just searched the one tool I needed, a jigsaw, and found the deal on the first try!

Instructions:
Step 1: Go to product page
Step 2: Click "Shop this offer" near the image.
Step 3: And add the RYOBI ONE+ 18V 4.0 Ah Lithium-Ion HIGH PERFORMANCE Battery
Step 4: Click to add both to cart
Step 5: Check out, discount is spread across both items in your cart
Step 6: Keep battery OR return to realize full savings

This is my first deal posted. Please be kind.

Related to this recent front-page deal, but perhaps more slick:

Thanks op. One of my local stores had the deal for $99 instead of $119. Jigsaw came to $45 before tax.

I am absolutely, positively, DONE with the "HP Brushless" line of Ryobi tools.

I've used the Ryobi 18V tools for about 18 years now, and the regular line of tools is fine. The more expensive brushless ones, however, are absolute crap. I don't know what they're doing wrong, since in theory the brushless motors SHOULD last longer and be more powerful, but they're definitely doing something wrong because it's not hard at all to make the brushless tools go up in smoke.

Are you done now? Or were you done 3 years ago (when that video was posted in the early days of HP)

Have this jigsaw and love it. Did a lot of 10mm laminate flooring cuts with it and it made my life so much easier when making weird cuts. Make sure to buy blades specific to what you're cutting

I found that video very recently, after having an expensive HP tool burn out on me just outside the warranty period. I've never burned out a standard line tool, and I have pushed those a lot harder than what broke the HP tool.

Obviously everyone should make their own informed decision but that video is 3 yrs old. I'm sure a lot has changed since then. I don't think Ryobi would still be in business if "every" brushless tool they ever made between then and now was that "easy" to get to smoke.

Same. Bought it three weeks ago and it cuts plywood very well. I picked up a Diablo assortment pack to go with it. Very handy tool to have around.

Given that I only found that video a few weeks ago after smoking one of my HP tools after pretty light usage, I wouldn't be so quick to assume things have changed.

I've got dozens of the standard line tools, and have never had any motor issues with them in 18 years. The only issue I have had was after 12 years, my random orbit sander wore out its brake pad which needed replacement, but that's considered a consumable part. That is to say I'm not picking on Ryobi in general, because I like the ONE+ line, just the fact that the more expensive tools aren't what they're cracked up to be.

The right thing for Ryobi to do would be to extend warranty coverage on the problematic HP tools, and make getting free service easier, but I don't see them doing that.
Other brands will have varying warranty coverage where the warranty period is different for commercial vs home use, so there's no reason they couldn't do something like that.
I'm currently at 18 tools in my Ryobi collection + I have the ZTR lawnmower. They've all lasted years without incident. Only thing I can't keep working is the stupid quick connect weed trimmer- the shaft strips after two years of use so I'm on my 3rd one of those.

That one has the charger and battery with it. Not a bad deal if you need those. However, most folks have a ton of batteries already and are looking for just a tool.

As for the inflator, I have it, but haven't really used it. It does not have a tip to work on car / bike tires.

I purchased the tool with a free 2AH battery. Both came out to $75.38 (tax added).
