About this Game:
- The King of the Cosmos once accidentally destroyed all the stars in the universe. He sent his son, the Prince, to Earth and ordered him to create a large katamari.
- The Prince rolled the katamari and made the katamari bigger and bigger, rolling up all the things on the earth. The katamari that he created floated in space, sparkling, and brought back the lost starry sky.
- As the starry sky was restored, the King's fans gradually grew in number all over the world. The King wanted to respond to the wishes of his fans for his success, and the Prince kept rolling the katamari to make everyone's dreams come true.
- In his youth, the King received a strict education from his father, the Great King. New challenges have been added where you can roll around as the King in his boyhood!

My kids love it, aged 5-9 and me and my wife love it.
Dual stick controls and you roll around picking up objects. It's very addicting and wholesome.
Damacy?
Also which is superior?

We Love Katamari controls and levels are better (more variety, more forgiving when crashing the ball).
Original Katamari Damacy has a better soundtrack. However, there are also some level breaking bugs that you can get stuck.
I like both games though if I had a preference, PS2 version for Katamari Damacy. PC for We Love Katamari. Somehow Katamari Damacy Reroll controls worse than the original PS2 version.
We Love Katamari Reroll adds a few "new" levels though they're just slight twists of the levels in the original game.
There are some nagging issues that only original PS2 players will notice in the re-release. Modders are coming out with fixes. Audio is not the same as the PS2 original and probably a sign the game was rushed out the gate or not tested fully when ported over to Unity.
Here's an audio mod that just came out recently.
Don't watch the attached video as it's basically a playthrough of one of the final levels in the game:
